The Great Battle
Who is going to win?
Well, this is a short, condensed video of close to 500 still shots and a full day of shooting photos of a wild Bald Eagle, 2 Bald Eagle Babies that are now 3 months old and stand about 2 feet tall or taller... a King Heron, that I call "Big Bird" and who looks like a flying Teradactyl.
Big Bird was catching Blue Gill Fish, and the Bald Eagle did NOT like that Big Bird was getting the fish, so the Eagle attacked Big Bird in the air, and who was the winner of this whole scenario...
The Blue Gill fish!!!
After the battle, Big Bird returned to the water, looking for the fish he had lost.
Look at the size of this baby Eagle that is only 3 months old, next to this adult Wren... Now you can see just how huge the baby Eagles are at this age. Huge!!
This is “Big Bird” of whom does NOT get along with the Eagles at all. In fact, the Eagles pick on Big Bird and Big Bird antagonizes the Eagles, testing just how far he can get without getting whooped for it.
As fast as this Eagle was flying in, I never dreamed that with this amazing fast landing, He/She still nailed and grabbed a Sun Perch on the landing. These birds are just amazing to watch.
Sun Perch in his/her talons and never had a chance… Wow…
And the taunting begins… Big Bird knows better, but you cannot teach a dumb bird any kind of logic, ever… LOL!
So, at this point, Big Bird has been dogging the Eagles in different spots and then decided to drop in and snatch a fish. Little did he realize the Eagle was on the dam, just to the right of this image.
After shooting this image, I swung the camera over to the Eagle and literally timed it absolutely perfectly…
The Battle is on…
This shot, you see the Eagle, Big Bird and if you look closely in between the two, you can see the Blue Gill…
Big Bird dropped that Blue Gill and was flying for his life, the Eagle very hot on his heels.
